News Kiosks
The concept
The new ‘Kiosque de Paris’ concept introduces a completely unprecedented self-service model to the Parisian public space. It is designed to be brighter, more welcoming, and more practical, allowing users to pleasantly browse press titles along with a diverse range of convenience products and mobility services (on-the-go coffee, drinks, phone charging, and souvenirs).
For the interior layout and fit-out, INOVSHOP Group chose a contemporary, functional, and sleek design. This new generation of newsstands offers enhanced comfort and improved working conditions for newsagents, featuring optimized space, digital tools, and integrated sanitary facilities. Additionally, some units are equipped with external touchscreens providing localized information and services. Finally, the kiosks are eco-designed to achieve significant energy savings.
The value proposition
The reinvention of the newsstand has secured the network’s future by boosting press distribution and reaffirming its vital role in urban life. By improving working conditions and elevating the profession, this concept has successfully revitalized the newsstand’s appeal, attracting a new generation of consumers.
These modern kiosks offer a more comfortable environment with a modular, scalable layout tailored to each operator’s needs. Equipped with new IT and multimedia tools—such as computerized point-of-sale systems and internet access—they simplify daily management while showcasing press titles and enabling business diversification.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games further enhanced their role within the city; kiosks now offer postal products, tourist tickets, souvenirs, and local attraction insights. Strategic partnerships with the Tourism Office and ongoing trials with La Française des Jeux are also being explored. Today, the number of active newsagents has risen to 360, a significant recovery from the low of 266 recorded in 2004.
